A quiet and relaxing place in the heart of Florence, Residenza Casanuova is an exclusive residence that will suit the needs of the most sophisticated traveller. "Casanuova" is actually our family name on the side of our paternal grandmother. Our great-grandfather, Fabio Casanuova, a Venetian painter and decorator, moved to Tuscany and, in 1920, established the Art School in Pistoia. Our grandmother moved to Florence to pursue her studies. Our family has lived in this antique palace (1871) for more than fifty years. The two of us, her grandchildren, still have an apartment in the palace. Our property occupies the entire second floor of the building. It was built, the result of our grandmother's project, at the end of the 50's. We completely restructured the property a few years ago with the intent of creating a bed&breakfast, retaining the genuine warmth of a home together with all the modern comforts. The building has an elevator. We are located in Florence, near the characteristic Sant'Ambrogio market, a five minute walk from the famous Basilica of Santa Croce and very close to the elegant and residential D'Azeglio Quarter. We are in the historical center of the city, easily reached by car, just outside the traffic limited area. It is our pleasure to pamper our guests, offering attention and care together with respect and discretion. Therefore, guests of the b&b can relax in the small reading room, chat in the large living room, have breakfast as late as they wake up, enjoy the panoramic terrace that overlooks secret and unexpected gardens and admire the real Florence, our native town with its marvellous monuments, and the surrounding hills." Residenza Casanuova offers 5 luxury rooms, including three large double Deluxe bedrooms, one double Superior bedroom and one single Superior bedroom. The rooms are very ample, luminous and beautifully decorated with taste and antiques, all in a very unique way, including the finest details and nice furniture. Each room has private bathroom decorated with Venetian stucco and they all have a stocked refrigerator (with no charge), coffee and tea facilities (with no charge), hairdryer, air conditioning and heating system, safe deposit box, satellite TV and radio, direct telephone line, Plug&Play laptop plug and free DSL Internet access. HOW TO REACH THE B&B From the main train station S.M.Novella: From the Amerigo Vespucci Airport by taxi (20 minutes). Public parking areas nearby at 50mts.

By car on the highway/freeway:
- From North follow directions to the Centre of the city and then to S. Ambrogio Market.
- From South take the "Firenze Sud" exit (10 minutes), follow directions to the Centre of the city and then to S. Ambrogio Market.
